Tour de Yorkshire

Joe has again been honoured to announce to over 2 million people on the streets of yorkshire as the Lead Car Announcer for the Tour de Yorkshire which is a Tour De France legacy race from the Tour De France organisers

The routes were packed with tons of people and whole villages coming out to see the race. Joe went a few minutes ahead of the race in the announcers car, telling people about the race And informing them of the latest results and race info. His job also involved making sure the crowds were energised as the race came through.

A new chant developed from Joe which was a French and British mix of the oggie oggie oggie chant, Allez Alex Allez, Oi Oi Oi. This went down a storm and will no doubt be used again

Joe on Coronation Street

The August bank holiday weekend saw Joe making his debut on Coronation Street!! OK so not strictly true although he did have a starring role. Joe was asked to host one of ITV’s flagship events for I AM TEAM GB.

It was a massive nationwide Olympic celebration of the success for team GB and an opportunity to get people inspired and active, taking part in sports days all over the country. This particular event took place on the cobbles of Coronation Street and Joe was asked to host the day and keep it running smoothly.

With 200 people visiting every hour for 6 hours, this was a big undertaking and involved creating a party atmosphere. The activities also included interviewing Team GB medalists such as Marcus Ellis and Bianca Walkden who won bronze in the badminton doubles and Taikwondo respectively and Eleanor Barker Gold medalist in the women Track Cycling Team Pursuit.

Joe also interviewed and introduced a number of Corrie stars and cast members. The day ended with an impromptu conga around the cobbles of Corrie!!
